1 in 6 Kids
It was the creative and playful Sami Arts who shared with me that 1 in 6 children are now being referred for mental health and emotional support. I had it down as 1 in 8. I checked the facts out @mentalhealthfoundation
I knitted this information into my "Happy Kids What's Resilience Got To Do With It" talk in the @sweatbandactive tent at Burpham Wellbeing Festival. Plus my frustrations with the education system, the stress-inducing and unnecessary catch-up culture, and ongoing erosion of creativity and play.
1 in 6!!
I also spoke about ways we can bolster our kids mental health and well-being with my 3Vs resilience framework.
By the way, where is your resilience hanging out today?
Close your eyes, breathe and connect with it now.
Mine is lingering with the wonderful connections and friendships created at this community event here in Guildford, UK. More pics and updates over on the Resilient_Kids Instagram page too.
Dad of two, Niall, attended one of my virtual "Resilient Parents, Resilient KIds" sessions during lockdown. We've since collaborated and facilitated a number of projects together. Recently, he also invited me to speak about Resilient Kids at the Peer Space. You may like to read more about this and watch the talk in the blog link just below.
Meanings Over Milestones
We’ve all got a book inside of us haven’t we, maybe a message for our kids, even the world?
This month, a book I contributed to reached number 1 across 8 categories on Amazon.
You can read all about the book in this link
In the picture above, I'm pretending to read our number one best-selling book at a business event, shortly before my deckchair collapsed.

How every child can Thrive By Five

Breaking down the research-backed ways parents and caregivers can support children's healthy brain development, Wright highlights the benefits of play on lifelong learning, behavior and well-being, sharing effective strategies to help all kids thrive by the age of five. She's joined onstage by one-year-old Ari and his dad, Amarjot, who help illustrate her big ideas about brain science.

And Finally
Did you have a teacher or tutor that made a difference in your life?
Have you ever said thank you?
Recently I caught up with the mum of a child I taught and tutored almost 20 years ago. She shared this with me and encouraged me to use it on my website.
What a difference it made to me too, with gratitude to this wonderful family. What a wonderful resilience boost.
