Eat peas or caulifower?
Cheese or chocolate?
Bananas or bread?
These are silly fun icebreakers I often share in my online sessions. They get the kids and adults relaxed, engaged, and laughing.
They went down well at this month's Dulux Virtual Wellfest where I was delighted to be invited to share my Resilient Kids sessions.
With thanks to Debi for the lovely feedback above.
A Random Dialogue With A Soon To Be Grandad On LinkedIn
"I do think the adult aspect is related to the child. The question is - what lays the best possible ground in a child to "get" resilience as early as possible and be able to carry this through into later life? Mike Holdstock
"Thanks for the tag Mike, I've done quite a bit of reading and research into this, there is a book on the go, as you know Resilient Kids is my passion project - VISION VITALITY AND VOICE. Like us adults, kids need guiding lights to bolster their resilience and creatively nudge them into leading themselves whilst working out the weirdness and wonders of the world."

Paul's Chillis
Progress Report!
Each year, my husband grows chillis. He calls them his "chilli children", so I track their growth and share updates. Just in case you are interested too! My sixteen-year-old son loves hot chillis as I do. They continue to grow all round the house including our bedroom window sill.

Weathering the storm | The Psychologist
We could stop talking about how what goes on at home can’t possibly be the same as school, and instead think about how well learning at home can work when children are able to follow their interests (Fisher, 2021). We could prioritise allowing children to play, rather than getting them back into formal schooling as a top priority.
Resilient Parents, Resilient Kids
What Do You Need Right NOW?
As parents, we are often so busy spinning plates and looking after our children that our own mental health and wellbeing get parked. In March's Resilient Parents session many parents were grateful for the opportunity to take some time out and check-in with others. We drank tea, chatted, and I shared some creative nudges to bolster resilience that they can share with their kids too. Why not join us again on April 15th from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm?
